Per pg 49 of The Story of a Dozen Generations, Daniel was the son of John and Anna Maria (Nicholas) Rush and married Elisabeth Duckworth in 1819. This book indicates he was born in 1797, rather than 1796. Per family researcher Justin Pippin, however, Daniels age on his death record tends to back up his birth year as 1796.
Per family researcher Justin Pippin: According to the copy of Daniel and Elizabeth Rush's death record they were both born in Maryland and both died in Wheatland Township, Fayette County, IL.
Another daughter, Catharine "Kate" (b. 17 Dec 1831, d. 3 Dec 1869-burial location unknown) married Jefferson Jackson Hankins. He is buried in the Old State Cemetery, Vandalia, Fayette County, Illinois with two of their infant children, George and Clement. Kate and Jefferson's son (Daniel & Elisabeth's grandson) William Marion Hankins is buried in Sidener Cemetery with several of his children.
