Obituary of Daniel A. Melius

From: Ridgway Record from Saturday, March 26, 1927:

D. A. Melius Died Today
Had Been Ill for Long Time - Ridgway Resident Forty Years

D. A. Melius, 67, a resident of Ridgway for over forty years, died about 10 O'Clock this morning in the Elk County General Hospital, where he had been a patient the past three weeks. Mr. Melius has been an invalid for six years and death this morning ended his long suffering. He was a carpenter by trade and a citizen of the highest type, respected by all who knew him. Arrangements for the funeral will be announced Monday. Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Miss Bertha, Superintendent of Nurses in the Orthopaedic Hospital, New York City, and one son, Arthur in the West.

Funeral This Afternoon

Funeral services for D. A. Melius, well-known Ridgway resident, who died at the Elk Co. General Hospital Saturday morning, where he had been a patient for three weeks were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence on Hyde Avenue. Rev. L. S. Cass had charge. Internment will be in the family plot in Pine Grove Cemetery. Miss Bertha Melius, of New York, is at home, being called here because of the death of her father, D. A. Melius.
