In 1850, a DanielLeamy of Carew Townland rented 2 houses, an outbuilding, and on1arce 2 roods 25 perches from Peter Barlow, tax L1.15. He marriedNancy (Ann) Quinlan about 1847. FOur years later, in 1851,Daniel emmigrated to New York, probalby in company with hisbrother, John. Nancy and children, Patrick and Katie, followedin 1853. Jude (Johanna) Stapleton Leamy, John's wife, and theirfour children -- Catherine, Patrick, Ellen, and Michael -- alsojoined them. By 1855, Daniel and Nancy were residents of Otisco.By 1860 he was working as a day laborer with property worth$200.; ten years later he is listed as a farmer with $1600. ofreal estate and a personal estate valued at $300. He died in1897 and is buried at St. Patricks.
