Daniel Kindig (born 1841) was the son of Daniel and Catherine (Hyde or Heyd) Kindig. At the time that Daniel enlisted the family lived in Milton Twp, Wayne County, OH. Family members are buried in Rittman Cemetery, but there is no stone for Daniel. Daniel's siblings were: John S.(1828), Benjamin (1828), Maria (1831), Persila(1832),Lucy(1834),George(1836), David 1837), Catherine(1839),Elizabeth (1843), Flora (1844), William (1846), and Cynthia E.(1850)

In the back of the Roster book, the Roll of Honor lists Daniel Kindig as being buried in Chalmette, Louisiana in Monument Cemetery. Chalmette is in St. Bernard parish. There is a national cemetery at Chalmette. But he is not listed at that site....it seems that many were buried as unknow
