    Daniel Bouy Godbehere of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday evening, June 1, 2008, in the Westminster Village in Ponca City at the age of 87 years.

    Daniel Bouy Godbehere was born on May 19, 1921, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Warren Daniel and Lila Reed (McClendon) Godbehere. He grew up in Hot Springs graduating from Cutler Morning Star School. Following his education he worked for Western Union. In 1942 he moved to Oklahoma where he began working in the wheat harvest before beginning work on the Goodson Ranch. He married Leta Mae Rusher on July 25, 1948, in Lamont, Oklahoma, and they settled southeast of Blackwell. While working as a foreman on the ranch he began his own farming operation. After eighteen years on the ranch he retired and dedicated himself to his farming business. His wife preceded him in death on December 15, 1989. He later married Alvena Lesemann on March 25, 2001, in Newkirk and they settled on the farm where he continued farming until 2003. In 2004 they moved to Ponca City to make their home. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell. He also held membership in the Chikaskia Lodge #109 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonary in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He served on several boards including the ASCS and Farm Bureau. He received several awards for community and educational service.

    He is survived by his wife, Alvena Godbehere of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three sons, Robert Dale Godbehere of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Don Wayne Godbehere of Blackwell, and Daniel Ray Godbehere and wife Janel of Ponca City; a sister, Odell Earl of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Krista Thomas of England, Ryan Godbehere of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brook Maxwell of Purcell, Oklahoma, Kara Goodwin of Denver, Colorado, Kaci Godbehere of Massillon, Ohio, Hallie Godberhere of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Carlie Godbehere of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and five great grandchildren, K. D. Ridenour of England, Taner Ridenour of England, Aiden Godbehere of Blackwell, Tucker Maxwell of Purcell, Oklahoma, and Blevin Summers of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

    He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Garland and Kenneth Godbehere; and a sister, Lilda Christman.

    Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

    Honorary casketbearers will be Larry Cannon, Troy Hockett, Max Ruggs, Bob Cronin and Ray Glenny. Serving as casketbearers will be David Buesing, Morgan Bergman, Rob Robinson, Frank Dyer, Garry Bilger and Charlie Storck.
