Land Grant
- 10 April 1775 - Daniel French received a land grant for 463 acres in Bedford County, Virginia on Griffith Creek, granted by Thomas Jefferson, Governor of Virginia. [Source: Library of Virginia, Source: Land Office Grants D, 1780-1781 (v.1 & 2 p.1-930), p. 298 (Reel 45)].

World Family Tree Vol. 7. This info comes from WFT vol. 7 and other WFT files as well as various correspondents. The tree in WFT 7, however, states that Mildred Strother's parents are Hugh French (1715-abt. 1771) and Margaret Jarvis. All three of the trees show this relationship and indicate that Mildred's Hugh is the son of Mason French and that Hugh French (b. abt. 1648 and d. bef. 1701). However, that would make her a sister to Daniel. My belief is that perhaps she was a daughter-in-law as shown here, though I have no solid documentation to support either.
