Deed, Loudoun County, VA, 23 January 1765, from Stephen Emrey to Daniel Evans: This Indenture made the twenty third Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty five Between Stephen Emry of the County of Loudoun, Town of Leesburg, Blacksmith of the one part and Daniel Evans of Chester County and Province of Pennsylvania, Cord Wainer of the other part. Witnesseth Whereas John Tayloe Esqr. by an Indenture to Stephen Amry, then of Fairfax County, Blacksmith bearing Date the sixteenth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty six did Devise, Grant and to Farm Set unto the said Stephen Emry and to his heirs and Assigns a certain Lot of land containing one hundred and Seventy Acres Situate in the then County of Fairfax now Loudoun being part of [a] Larger Tract of land belonging to the said John Taylor Esqr. and Described by the Platt Annexed to and REcorded with a Leave Granted to Joseph Garrett and Bounded as followeth Vizt. Beginning at a small white oak in the outside Like of the Original Patent near the Main Road and running thence the Several Courses laid Down in the Platt to the Beginning being the Lot Number (15) on fulfillnig the Covenants and Agreement Described in the aforesaid Indenture and Leave unto which reference being had more fully things will appear Not know ye that the said Stephen Emry for and Consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifteen pounds Pennsylvania Currency to him in hand paid by the said Daniel Evans at and before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the said Staphen Emry doth acknowledge Hath Devised, Granted and set over and by these Presents..... to have hold use Occupy Possess and enjoy all and Singular the Demand premises and every part and Parcel of them without the Let? hindrance Trouble Molestation or Interruption of him the said Stephen Emry his heirs and Assigns or any other person or persons Claiming or to Claim by them or any of them and from such will Warrant and the same Defend by these Presents. in Witness whereof the parties to these presents have Interchangably set their hands and seals the day and Date above written. [Signed] Stephen Emrey, [Signed] Daniel Evans. signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of: Danl. Baley, Ben. Edwards, Robert Popkins. January 23 Dey 1765. Then Received of the within named Daniel Evans the Sum of one hundred and fifteen pounds Pennsylvania Currency for the within Consideration I say Receoved & me. [Signed] Stephen Emrey.
