Worked for his father in farming (at Borrough Town of Westchester) until 1728, when his father transferred the 184.5 acre farm to him. Included the lower part of the land, known as De Voe's Point.

Upon Daniel's death, he divided the farm between his two sons, Daniel, Jr. and John.
