    "3. Daniel Darte,2 first son of Richard and Bethia Darte, was born May 3, 1666. The date of his death seems not to be known. He married Elizabeth Douglass, Aug. 4, 1686. (Afternoon I went to take my leave of Danl Darte who is moving off with his family to Boulton. Hemps. Diary p. 125. Oct. 8, 1722.) The house which Daniel built at Bolton is still standing and is in a good state of repair. It is owned by Mr. Samuel Alvord, who has remodeled it considerably in the interior. In his will Richard, the first, characterizes his son, Daniel, as being 'ungrateful and treacherous,' and accordingly he leaves most of the residue of his property to his son, Richard. (Eliz Dart died. Hemps. Diary. Jan. 27, 1714)."
