[edit] Identity of Daniel CrugerSources for Lydia Boggs indicate that she married 2nd, Gen. "David" Cruger, who died on 12 July 1843, but other sources (listed below) indicate that is was Gen. "Daniel" Cruger, son of Daniel Cruger, Sr. and Elizabeth Wheaton, that died on 12 July 1843 and married 1st, Hannah Clement and 2nd, Lydia Boggs.
[edit] Information on Daniel CrugerDaniel Cruger was born December 22, 1780 in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, and died July 12, 1843 at the age of 62 in Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia (now West Virginia). He was the son of Daniel Cruger, Sr. (died 1804) and Elizabeth (née Wheaton) Cruger (died 1781). Daniel Cruger was first married to Hannah (née Clement) Cruger (1788 – 1831) in 1806. Daniel Cruger and Hannah Clement Cruger had the following children together: twin sons Jefferson Cruger (1806 - 1876) and Washington Cruger (1806 - 1876) and daughters Frances Minerva Cruger Strong (1806 - 1882) and Eliza Madison Cruger Ford (1809 - 1884).
