Facts and Events

Death? 27 Sep 1822

He left Westmoreland after 1807 according to the History of Westmoreland. However he is shown there on the cenus in 1810. His daughters Clarissa and Fanny are not listed in the NH vital statistics at the LDS site where his other children are shown. Per the 1810 census Clarissa must have been born in NH or perhaps VT or MA. Fanny, born in 1811 listed her place of birth on census records as NY. Neither Genesee Co or Orleans Co, NY deed indexes show any property transactions for him. The Daniel Carlisle shown on the 1820 Bethany, Genesee Co census does appear to be him as the ages and number of children all track with the information that I have from family records with the exception of daughters age 16-26. He had three that would have fit into this age group at this time however the census only shows two. Since I have found no records for Betsey and only a possible marriage for Relief other than their birth records it is possible that one died or that one had married. There is no headstone in the Bethany cemetery for him but I have not researched when the cemetery was established and a burial without a stone was quite possible during the early settlement period of the time. His son Daniel moved to Bristol, Ontario, NY and it is also possible he is buried there.
