Facts and Events
[edit] ShipbuilderDaniel Oakes Blaisdell was a shipbuilder. From 1867 to 1880 the Daniel O Blaisdell shipyard built 15 vessels on the Kennebec River in Bath, Maine. The area of his shipyard has been preserved by the Maine Maritime Museum; it was used from 1897 to 1920 by the Percy and Small shipbuilding concern. See the Historical Marker Database for an image of the shipyard. Another photo taken in 1885 from the remains of the Blaisdell shipyard shows the Deering & Donnell shipyard to the north. See the Maine Maritime Museum's publication, the Rhumb Line of April 2010. References
