BIOGRAPHY: !From Bea Barton- The Berry's were in the same wagon train with the Donner party. They split up and our Berry's went the normal route and the Donner party took what they believed to be a short cut. Joseph Aram became the Captain of our wagon train. Others with the Berry's were Dr. Isbel and wife Olive who became the first school teacher in California. There also were White's and Hecox. Margaret Hecox wrote a book called California Caravan. Daniel Berry was a scout for Capt. Aram. He discovered the Emigrant Canyon Pass, Lincoln Judah Pass which they used to get over the Sierra's.
