Light Artillery; Made Sgt. by Mar. 1863; Slightly wounded in action at Port Gibson; Elected 2nd Lieut. Nov. 12, 1863; No further record. Careers: Farmer; teacher; railroad agent; postmaster. Died- April 29, 1918 at his home near Eagle Rock, Va. buried at family cemetery in Botetourt Co.
