Dale S. Laughner, a man of family, fraternity, community, and country, died on March 18, 2015 at the age of 88.
Born in Sewickley, PA, Dale was a veteran of the US Navy near the end of World War II and then served in the Naval Reserves. He was a graduate of Monaca High School and Bethany College, and a Distinguished Alumnus of his alma mater and fraternity Phi Kappa Tau. He was a Mason at the Monaca-Center Lodge 791 and an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca. Throughout his mortgage lending career as a Vice President of Peoples Home Savings, and after retirement, he served as a Chippewa Township Supervisor, president of Kiwanis Club of Beaver Falls, board member of the Beaver County Rehabilitation Center, fundraising director of United Way of Upper Beaver Valley, founding member of Homemaker-Home Health Aide Service of Beaver County, and numerous other civic and charitable organizations.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanne Myers Laughner and a brother, Eugene Laughner.
He is survived by a son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Margaret Riley Laughner of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Peggy Laughner of Chippewa Twp.; and son, Patrick (P.J.) Laughner, daughter-in-law, Melodie O'Hanlon, and grandson, Kieran of Harpers Ferry, WV; and sister, June Hodge, of Center Township.
