OBITUARY: Cassia County ID Archives News.....DALE KNIGHT S PURPLE HEART ARRIVES FOR FAMILY THIS WEEK December 21, 1944 Burley Herald December 21, 1944 Mr. and Mrs. Alfred N. Knight of route two have received the purple heart and accompanying citation signed by President Roosevelt, which is post-humously awarded to their son, Dale Knight. He was reported missing in action on June 6 in the Normandy beach head landing, then was reported killed that day,in word received in September. The citation states that the award is made for bravery in action and for meritorious deeds.
