Bio: Son of Emerson and Mary Ann Brown. Married Mary Wayne Dishman and had nine children. Worked for New Domain Oil Company as lease man.Wayne County Outlook6 Mar 1919The death angel visited our home and claimed for it's own, our dear father and husband.Cyrus Brown was born October 3, 1853, departed this life Feb. 10, 1919 at 7:45 a.m. He was married to Mary Wayne Dishman, March 20, 1876. To this union nine children were born, five of whom with their mother still survive him. Joe and Ed Brown and Mrs. Earl Tate, of this city, Em Brown of Lexington, and Tom Brown of Covington, Oklahoma.He was affected with organic heart trouble. He called his family to his bedside several times and told us not to weep after him for he was only going to live with the other children who had gone on before. He said, "the Lord's will be done, not ours and I have nothing to fear, the Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want."After three weeks of suffering the end came and without a struggle he breathed his last. The last word he said was "alright" and then went to sleep.Funeral services were conducted by Bro. Piercy at the home on North Main Street. He was buried Masonically. Of this order he had been a member for about forty years.
