I remember working with Uncle Cyril when he first built the bungalow at Sussex Road and him laughing uproariously when I splashed creosote in my eye. I also remember visiting him in Oldchurch Hospital just before he died of Cancer. Cyril played Bowls for Clacton and Essex. He was also the chairman of the Colchester Conservative Club from 1964 to 1967. I was proxy for his Baptism & Endowment. Mum gave me his signet ring at Christmas 1993
