Stephen D. Sherman was born in Exeter, March 9th, 1829, he is a descendant of the Hon. Philip Sherman, who was born in Dedham, England, February 5th, 1610, and died in Portsmouth, R.I., 1687. Their only child, William Milton Sherman, was born in Exeter, March 24th, 1858. Residence at Hope Valley, R.I.
