LDS library record submitted by Elmer Leroy Broat provides relationship and name of Counsel Dawson, spouse of Willie Zelotes Braught, b. 1883.

   Miami, OK News Record obit. of 8 Feb. 1942 p.7 col. 6 says she was age 58, died at Afton home 8 Feb. 1942 (this was actually her husband, Z.W.).  Also interesting in obit is the listing as brothers C. C. Braucht of Ponca City and Byron Braucht of West Lake, LA.  (actually brother-in-law and half brother-in-law).  Alert!! that newspaper report was clearly inaccurate in details. Whomever submitted it did not know the family very well.
   Miami News Record Jan 16, 1981, pg 12 c.2.: "Afton Pioneer's Rites Saturday: Afton (special).  Mrs. Counsil Jane Brought, 90, Afton, died Thursday night at a Miami nursing home after a long illness.  Born Nov. 20, 1890 in Afton, Mrs Brought had lived here all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Afton.  Survivors include two nieces Delores Sharon and Rose Marie Neese and a nephew, Lyle Dawson. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at the Jim Thomas and Son Funeral Home, Afton.  The Rev. Ted Wynn of Seneca will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyson Eubanks, Clark Riley, Doug Klaus, Wilton Fisher, Reuben Tipton, and Everette Grimes. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral chapel."
   Afton American Newspaper death notice: Braught, Counsel Jane (Mrs. Wm.) b. Nov 20, 1890 in Afton d. Jan 15, Miami, buried Afton Jan 22, 1981 (p2 c3 ).   SocSec record of Counsel Braught, SS#441-30-1696 OK, b. 20 Nov 1889 and d. Jan 1981 at Afton, Ottawa, OK.  Notice that Miami News obit had errors and misspelled her surname as Brought more than once, but Afton obit. (where she lived) had it correctly spelled Braught and was more accurate.
