Organized at Madison, Wis., December 24, 1864, to March 5, 1865. Left State for St. Louis, Mo., March 8, 1865, thence moved to Rolla, Mo., March 13. Garrison and guard duty at Rolla till August and at St. Louis, Mo., till November. Attached to 2nd Sub-District, District of St. Louis, Dept. of Missouri, March to August, and to 1st Sub-District to November. Mustered out November 8, 1865. Regiment lost during service 54 by disease. Cornelius probably died from disease.
