Biography

Candy was a 6th Generation Appalachian American.

Candy was Born 1 Dec 1899 in Montgomery County, Kentucky.

She was the daughter of David Dale and Mary Griffith.

In 1900 She lived in Magisterial District 2, Montgomery, Kentucky, with her parents. She was 1 year old.

By 1910 both her parents had passed away and she was living with her Great Aunt and Uncle in Aarons Runn, Montgomery, Kentucky.

She married James around 1916 based on the fact that she listed that she was first married at 17 years old in the 1930 Census.

The children of this union were:

Arzeala L (Trimble) Brand (1918-1956). Christopher C Trimble (1920-1985) Margaret T Trimble (1922-2019) md. Charles P Prewitt.

In 1920, she was 20 years old and lived in Aarons Runn, Kentucky, with her husband, James, and daughter; Arzeala.

In 1930, she was 30 years old and lived in Montgomery, Kentucky, with her husband, James, son, and 2 daughters.

Home in 1935, Montgomery, Kentucky. Marital Status: Married Relationship to Head: Wife.

In 1940, she was 40 years old and lived in Montgomery, Kentucky, with her husband, James, son, and 2 daughters.

In the 1950 census Corda (age 55), Farmer, was the wife of James L Trimble in Montgomery County, Kentucky, United States. They were empty nesters.

She passed away on 11 Dec 1976 in Montgomery, Kentucky.

She was laid to rest in Machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Montgomery County, Kentucky, United States of America. South Side - Section 8.

Research Notes

For a while I believed that David and Elizabeth had three daughters. Candy, Cordia and Ida. However I can not find anything on Cordia before 1910 and nothing for Candy after 1900. I also had the wrong birth date for Cordia. Once I found the correct birthdate it made more sense form Cordia/Candy to be one in the same.
