Mr. Colon Ashley Terrell Sr. RALEIGH — Mr. Colon Ashley “Pete” Terrell Sr., 77, of Alterra Sterling House, Raleigh, and formerly of Haw River and the Mt. Hermon Community, died at 2:33 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2001, at the Alterra Sterling House after two years of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs.. Farrell Wood Terrell and the late Mrs.. Ann Jewel Hedgpath Terrell. He was the son of Mr. Curry Christopher Terrell and Mrs.. Minnie Williams Terrell, both deceased. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired owner and operator of the King of the Sea Restaurant in Raleigh and later worked at Northridge County Club. He maintained his membership and was a former treasurer of Mt Hermon United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs.. Terrie Terrell Guin of Garner and Ms. Catherine Terrell Belk of Chapel Hill; a son, Mr. Colon A. Terrell Jr.. of Orlando, Fla.; four grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Rick Moser, pastor, and the Rev. Auburn Lore. A memorial service will also be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Alterra Sterling House, 1110 Falls River Ave., Raleigh. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 8:30 this evening. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, 4178 Mt. Hermon-Rock Creek Road, Graham, N.C. 27253.
