Thomas Williams and John Clark of Alleghany Co, MD sold to Colemore Chapman and William Hendrixson for 2000 pounds of crop-inspected Tobacco and in return recieved 2 horses and 20 head of cattle. Terms: unless Chapman and Hendrixson deliver 2000 pounds of Tobacco at Wats Branch on 1 Aug 1797 and if Williams and Clark do not pay for delivered tobacco, then Chapman and Hendrixson are at liberty to sell tobacco for ready cash on the market.
