Mr. Clyde Bellomy Meets Tragic Death - Is Crushed to Death as Steam Shovel Topples Over - The neighborhood of Price and surrounding community was badly shocked when news was received of the untimely death of Clyde Bellomy. Mr. Bellomy was operating a steam shovel at Atenville, W.Va., when the machinery caught foul on an underground tie which caused the machine to turn over in a ditch. As the machine started to turn the young man made an effort to get out of danger, but as he struck the ground the machine toppled over on him killing him instantly. His body was badly mashed. It is said the accident was unavoidable. Mr. Bellomy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bellomy, of Price. He was born March 24, 1903, and died Dec. 20, 1928, being 25 years, 8 months and 26 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Lucy Wellman on December 6, 1921, and is survived by his wife, Lucy Bellomy, three children, Fay, age 6, Joyce, age 4 and Ercil, age 2 years, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bellomy, of Price, three sisters, Mrs. Charity McComas, Mrs. Drusia Miller, of Ironton, Ohio, and Mrs. Ella Lambert, of Kenova, W.Va., four brothers, Ulysses Bellomy, of Price; John Bellomy, of Sias, and Bascom and Oscar Bellomy, of Logan county, and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. This young man will be greatly missed by old and young alike. He was a kind husband, a loving father, and a trustworthy son. All of Clyde's young associates loved and admired him. He was jovial and good natured. He had no enemies and was a friend to all. The people of this section of the county will greatly miss Clyde because of his upright conduct, as he was reared by a good christian father and mother. Why such sad things happen to grieve the hearts of such good christian people we are unable to understand. We can only say God knows best. The funeral services were conducted by Revs. Ebb Cummings and Tolbert Adkins. A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. --A FRIEND
