Clifford Sims Whitmore, 83, Harrison, passed away Wednesday, July 5 (2017), at his home. He was born July 30, 1933, in Pampa, Texas, the son of Clifford Monroe and Fannie Florence (Sims) Whitmore.
After graduating from Texas A&M University with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, “Doc” Whitmore and his wife Joan came to the Ozarks to start a mixed animal veterinary practice. For 30 years he cared for the animals of four counties and their people.
Being a Texas Aggie through and through, he often had a good healthy exchange of practical jokes with his Arkansas Razorback friends over the years. He loved to travel, hunt, and just loved being outdoors in the Ozark Mountains.
Doc Whitmore loved and served the community of Harrison and Boone County. He loved his family, and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
