Gender Male
Birth? 15 Sep 1796 Frankfort Co., KY
Marriage 17 Jun 1815 Hardin Co., KYto Elizabeth Hart

Per "History of Wabash Lodge 179" Clemme was "married twice and by first union were born ten children, seven boys and three girls." He moved to Park Co., IN in 1821 where he resided sixteen years and then came to Paradise, Coles Co., IL. He moved from his farm in Dry Grove to Mattoon early in the history of this city and engaged in the mercantile business with A. Y. Ballard. He then moved to Jacksonville, IL in 1862; from there to Winchester, Scott Co., IL where he died at 93 yrs., 7 mos. and 7 days old. He and Miles W. Hart (the book says Miles W. but I think it should be Miles H. because Miles W. wasn't born until 1870) built the first steam mill in this part of the county in 1837.
