Claude can be found in the following census: 1930 Larimer, Somerset, PA Federal Census CLAUDE EDISON BITTNER Meyersdale Man Drowned in Yough While Swimming Claude Edison Bittner, aged 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bittner, Keystone St., Meyersdale, was drowned while swimming in the Youghiogheny River, near Connellsville, about 2:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, June 26. He swam to a rock a short distance away from the group of friends with whom hewas swimming, and apparently was drowned before his absence was observed. The Connellsville Fire Department was summoned and while dredging the river, soon found his body a short distance down stream. He was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Larimer Township, a son of Edgar and Clara (Wright) Bittner. Several years ago his family moved to 217 Keystone Street, Meyersdale, where they now reside.
