A descendant of Clarissa Jane says that her DNA matches that of descendants of Presley Badgett (Presley was the brother of James Badgett). Therefore, it is believed that Clarissa was the daughter of James Badgett and Elizabeth Winfrey, even though they were married a few years after Clarissa was born.
