Wife of Joshua Mauran Knight. Descendant of Thomas Pierpont, of Connecticut. Daughter of Jasper W. Johnson and Mary E. Post, his wife. Granddaughter of John D. Post and Luanna Pierpont, his wife. Gr.-granddaughter of Andrew Pierpont and Mercy Barnes, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Thomas Pierpont and Hannah Bishop, his wife. Thomas Pierpont served several enlistments and was taken prisoner at Fort Washington, 1776. He was born at North Haven, where, in 1812, he died.
