Not to be confused with Christopher Hains (1760-1846) of Frederick County, Virginia and Allen County, Kentucky, son of Johann Christoph "Christopher" Heintz of Frederick County, Virginia. Several Ancestry Member Trees have combined the two Christopher Haynes and given "him" [them] three over-lapping marriages.

Likely First Marriage

The father of Christopher Haynes, Nicholas Haynes, left his will dated 15 October 1796 and proven June 1797 in Botetourt County, Virginia. The marriage of Nicholas' daughter, Catherine to Jacob Crider in 1786, is located in Botetourt County Marriage Records. There is also a marriage for a Christopher Haynes to an Alice Vanmetre on 28 August 1784 in Botetourt County that appears to be a likely prior marriage to his marriage to Ann Young in 1791 [some sources say this marriage occurred in Charles City, Charles City County, Virginia]]. Assuming that this is the same Christopher Haynes, it makes his likely birthdate sometime around 1760-1763, assuming he had likely reached adulthood at the time of his [likely] first marriage, a few years earlier than other estimates of "abt. 1770".
