Christopher came to America with his brother Jacob, on the "Jacob" arriving in Philadelphia 2 October, 1749. He had settled in York County, Pennsylvania, by 29 April 1759, with his wife. They lived in Hellam Township until his death. He made a will on May 11, 1797, which was probated June 2,1798 at York Co.; his name appears on the 1798 federal tax list (levied to help pay for the American Revolution), but the tax of 20.2 cents on his wife's property appears to have been levied after his death; he may be the person of that name whose name appears on the Pennsylvania Militia roster from Hellam Twp. as a Private, 3rd Class in Jan. 1781, and he may also be identical with the person of that name who appears on the roster for the 4th Company, 2nd Battalion, York Co. Militia as a Private, 7th Class on April 17, 1778, and in Captain Comfort's Company in 1782; m. Dec. 9 (or poss. Dec. 2), 1753 at Trappe Church, Montgomery Co., PA to Sophia Catharina Schupp(in) (d. c. 1798 at York Co., PA).
