Surveyor-General for Elizabeth I. Obtained a grant of arms in 1571. His great-grandson William was created a Baronet in 1671. Arms: Per bend dancettee argent and azure, four quatrefoils two and two bendwise counter-changed. Crest: A buck's head coupled lozengy argent and sable, attired or, in the mouth a trefoil slipped vert.
