Christopher Eye immigrated to the American colonies in 1754, eventually settling in western Virginia, which today is Pendleton County, West Virginia. In the American Revolution, he joined the Virginia Militia in 1779, led by Capt. Peter Hull, and he eventually fought in the final campaign of the war at Yorktown. Christopher Eye was the father of several children and numerous descendants. He was buried close to the remains of his original homestead off Dry Run Road on Dickenson Mountain, which is southeast of the town of Franklin, West VA. The grave is on private property and on top of a knoll. The burial plot perhaps contains three graves and since 1998 has been fenced and maintained by Herbert Eye and his daughter Christina Eye Clapsaddle, who are descendants of Christopher Eye.
