Facts and Events
[Stamps-Sites_TFS.FTW] John "Cow" Miller was born December 5, 1763, in Rowan County, NC. He married (Mar. 21, 1775 -- this year is too early to be accurate.... may have been 1795) in Catawba Co., NC (then a part of Lincoln Co.), to Christena Bolick, born 1770, Catawba Co., NC (then, Lincoln). Christena was the daughter of Jacob Bolick, she died in 1854. John died March 24, 1828, in Catawba Co., NC, and buried at St. John's Church, in Catawba Co., NC. During the Revolutionary War, it is said that John "Cow" Miller was captured by the Tories (as a boy of 11 years old) and they hanged him seven times in one day to force him to tell where his brother Frederick was. He would not betray his brother. (from "Wendell Miller Ancestry in Catawba County" by James Theodore Miller) References
