- ↑ Christian was raised by John Kinsey, Sr. Both families lived in the Pink Hill area of Lenoir County. There were frequent Indian uprisings in the area and Christian's parents were killed during such an uprising. The Kinsey family took in the chuldren and raised them.
The Kinsey family hailed from the Bavaria Region of what is now Germany. They attended the Palatine Church in Lenoir County. The Palatine Church was named for the region in Bavaria from which they came: Palintinate.
The Germans in this area were all very clsoe knit and tended to marry within their own community to others with a German or German / Swiss heritage.
