Will Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I Christian Hynecker of the County of Pendleton & State of Virginia being very weak in body but of Perfect mind & memory knowing that it is appointed for all Men Once to die do make & Ordain this my last Will & Testament that is to say principally & first, I Recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the last day I shall receive the same by the mighty Power of God & touching the temporal Estate that the Lord has pleased to bless me with in this Present World.
I give & dispose of the same in the following manner. Viz.___________
I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy the full third of my lands that I now live on to hold during her natural life & the full third of my moveable property likewise the Grain that is now growing, the large Kettle, the dutch oven, the loom, Plough & frying pan.
2ndly. I give & Bequeath to my only son George my lands & Tenements to have & to hold to him & his heirs forever.
3rdly. I give to my Eldest daughter Elizabeth one young black horse, one Cow four year old red with a white face, three Sheep formerly claimed by her.
4thly. I give & Bequeath to my second daughter Eve One black Mare Cole, one bridled heifer, One sheep formerly claimed by her.
5thly. I give to my Son George the Gun I now own.
And the remainder of my moveable property it is my Will that it shall be sold and equally divided amongst them my son excepted. I likewise Appoint John Mitchell my sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament, hereby disallowing disannulling & revoking all former Wills declaring this & this only to be my last Will & Testament.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my had this Twenty fifth day of december One Thousand eight hundred & One in the Presence of us.

At a Court held for Pendleton County on Tuesday the 2nd day of February 1802.
This last Will & Testament of Christian Hynecker deceased was produced in Court & proven by the Oaths of Samuel Teter & Sophrona Teter two of the witnesses thereto & ordered to be recorded.
