2. Land, 1812, Marietta, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. 4 Christian Bucher inherited the Bucher homestead and about 150 acres of the original farm. This he sold and moved to Marietta, becoming infatuated with the building boom in 1812. He built the Hopkins House on Front Street, and various other buildings in the town. When the bubble burst, Christian Bucher failed financially. He later moved to Ohio.
