 In the 1920 census for Hartford Co., Connecticut, William C. Whitney is 56 ME (ME, ME), farmer; with wife Carrie W. 43 CT (CT, PA); stepdaughter Christel A. [Case] 16 CT (CT, CT); stepson Robert W. [Case] 14 CT (CT, CT); and mother-in-law Esther Wilcox is 72 PA (PA, PA), widow.
 Carrie (Wilcox) Case Whitney (1876-1972) married a third time to Esca G. Scoville, and she is buried in West Avon Cemetery in Hartford, together with parents Esther Carpenter and Robert H. Wilcox, husbands Harold Case and Esca G. Scoville, and son Robert Wilcox Case 1905-1952.
