Charlie Faye Broyles Wallace, age 88, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on February 10, 2018. She was born on October 4, 1929 in Kleberg, Texas to Gladys and Charles Broyles. Charlie Faye leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Jerry Don Wallace; her daughters, Janice Walton Dowlearn and Carla Walton Snider and husband Charles; her grandsons, Scott Dowlearn and wife Melody, Jarrod Snider and wife Ellen, Clay Snider and wife Katie; great grandchildren Charles and Noah Dowlearn, and Ethan, Reid, Caleb and Lilly Snider; her brother Randy Broyles and cousin Jo Nell Manley; her grandchildren by marriage Jason Skeen, Jeremy Wade, Jordan Wade, Gary Arnold and Misty Rupe.
Charlie Faye was born on October 4, 1929 in Kleberg, Texas to Gladys and Charles Broyles. She loved music and dancing. In the late1950's she aspired to teach ballroom dance and honed her craft at the Arthur Murray Studio in Dallas. She also loved the outdoors and explored the woods and creek with her girls. Charlie was a talented artist, painting both portraits and landscapes and drawing in pen and ink. Her drawings of old Lancaster, Texas homes were featured in a calendar. She was an active member of both the Lancaster and Waxahachie art clubs, and she displayed her works in various art shows.
Charlie Faye loved her family and friends and enjoyed taking family vacations to the Smokey Mountains and the coast. She and Jerry entertained the grandchildren with camping trips, Halloween dress up and playtime in Grandpa's red convertible.
Charlie was fond of all God's creatures. She and Jerry fed and rescued many dogs and cats over the years. Her grandsons fondly remember her beautiful backyard at their Lancaster home and how she shared cuttings from her plantings. They refer to her as having a green thumb.
The service to celebrate the life of Charlie Faye will be at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 before the service. Burial will be at Kleberg Cemetery following the service.
