  4.   Charles was born and lived in Texas for many years. He and his brothers George and John helped move their brother Elijah to Washington State in the late 1880s and stayed for awhile to help him get established. Then the three brothers went back to Texas. Shortly thereafter, most of the Thompson family moved to Oklahoma when it was opened for settlement. Charles, John, and their wives lived in Sulphur, Oklahoma in the early 1900s. Charles' first wife and children died in fall 1901 apparently of some common illness. Charles remarried in 1905 and later moved to Oakland, California. He and his second wife divorced; she remarried Earl Mallory. Charles lived the remainder of his life in El Cerrito, California.
