CHARLES THIMIAN was born in Dec 1865 at Germany. He married MARY POLKOW, daughter of CARL (CHARLES) POLKOW and FREDERICKA [POLKOW], on 25 Dec 1887.
In 1900 Charles was a Finisher. This job probably has to do with performing the finish work in a wood shop, usually on furniture. His brother-in-law Louis was also a wood finisher.
In 1910 Charles was a foreman in a Piano Works. His son Walter was an action finisher and son Charlie was a key fitter. His brother-in-law John also listed his occupation as a finisher in a Piano Works, so they probably all worked together.
In 1930 he was a foreman in an "int wood????" (interior woodwork?, furniture?). His son Louis was listed as a finisher in an "int wood????", so they probably worked together. There is no earlier son named Louis, but he is the same age as the son listed as Tony in 1910, so they are probably the same person.
