OBITUARY 

                                          CHARLES C. SPARKS

    Charles C. Sparks, Sr. 74, of 104 Biltmore Drive, died Thursday at Wayne

Memorial Hospital. 

     A native of Michigan, he was the son of the late George Martin Sparks and

Hilda Perkins Sparks. He was a retired master sergeant with the United States Air Force. Mr. Sparks was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

    He is survived by his wife, Gladys Conard Sparks; children, Carolyn Brown,

and husband, Terry of Aurora, CO, Charles Sparks, Jr. and wife, Diane of Goldsboro and Eyvonne Taylor of LaGrange; grandchildren, Darren Brown, Jennifer Delamar, Kimberly Smith, Karen Smith, Jackie Sparks, Lisa Sparks and Kimberly Taylor; and a sister, Virginia Smith of Milton, FL. 

    The funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home

with the Rev. Jack Sauls officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. 

    The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour

Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence.
