Hi Colleen, I saw your note in Genforum about Charles and Mary Sickler. I do Sickler research, primarily the NY/Pa lines but I do have some NJ pieces too. There are 2 or 3 large NJ Sickler lines, that some NJ Sickler researchers believe are related. I also have a few stray NJ Sickler lines that are not connected yet. I believe I have a few pieces regarding the line you referenced. I believe the first reference I have to your Charles Sr. is in the 1850 Salem Twp., Salem Co., NJ census p. 139. Francis Sickler 33 NJ Mary P.? 28 Charles D? 9 Mary K 6 Francis F. 9? Hanna S. 1/12 Then in 1860 Salem City, Salem Co., NJ p. 260 Francis 40 cattle dealer b. Cumberland Co. Mary G.? 39 b. Salem Co. Charles F.? 19 b. Salem Co. Mary R. 16 Francis F. 12 Anna L. 10 Elizabeth R. 6 Ida J. 3 John E. 2 Charity P. Howard 66 (pretty sure this is Mary's mother) Then in 1880 Philadelphia Co., Pa. Charles F. 40 NJ 62,47,8,13 Kate 29 Pa Francis 8 Pa Mamie 5 Pa Katie 4 Pa Maggie 1 Pa And finally in 1900 Philadelphia Charles Mar., 1840 NJ If you have any other Sickler census on this family, I'd appreciate it. As you can see, I have trouble reading a couple of the middle initials in the census, but I'm pretty sure it is the same family you referenced. I feel relatively confident that this Sickler line is related somehow to the line of John Sickler b. Sep. 11, 1774 Friesburg, NJ and/or Jacob Sickler b. Oct., 1818 NJ -- the other Salem Co. pieces I have. They also may be related to the Gloucester Co. line of Christopher Sickler as John Engelbert Sickler b. Oct. 29, 1858 (son of Francis and brother of Charles Sr.) married Wilhelmina Pauline Rowand. The Rowand and Sickler lines run together in some of the other NJ Sicklers. If you want a compilation of all I have on "your" Sickler line, let me know. The last bit I have is that Vol. I, Tree 3170 of Family Tree Maker's CDs has a bit of this line in it. I believe it was submitted by Jen Levering, 2767 Free Union Rd., Charlottesville, Va. 22901 -- I don't know if that is a current address. Hope I have been of some help. Scott Sickler R. S.
