Charles M. Raver, 95, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Seymour, IN, after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Edna Eckard Raver, the late Ellen Koons Raver and the late Leota Jones Raver. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with The Rev. Brian A. McClinton officiating. A viewing will be held from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at New Hope Fissel's Cemetery, 3426 Fissel's Church Rd., Glen Rock with full military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born February 22, 1922 in Glen Rock, a son of the late Harrison A. and Dora G. (Mummert) Raver, he worked as a carpenter for over 40 years. Mr. Raver lived all his life in York County until 2015. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, baseball, square dancing and watching wildlife. Mr. Raver was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, where he served in the South Pacific. Mr. Raver is survived by a daughter, Peggy and husband, Paul England of Indiana; a stepdaughter, Viki Sweitzer of CA; four granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne; brothers, Ervin and Walter; sisters, Alice Wherley, Myrtle Bortner, Lovia Ness and Lottie Raver.
