Charles' family came to Knox Co., IL between 1860 and 1870 from Union, Highland, OH, probably about 1863 or 1864, because Clarinda was born in IL. They appear to be renting in 1870. After Charles marries Rosa, they are found in Abingdon, IL (1880 census) where Margaret Owen also resides.

Amy Swensrud was in contact with a Bob Owens in California about 1960. He said his father was Samuel Owens and grandfather Isaac Owens, the brother of Charles Owens who married Rosa Jones.
