Charles Null (October 31, 1767 - March 20, 1844) was born in Rockingham County, Virginia, and was the son of Heinrich 'Henry' Null, SR and Margaret 'Peggy' Harmon. He was one of 10 children. In August 1793, Charles married Mary Christina SELLERS, the daughter of Adam and Barbara (Teeter) SELLERS. In 1792, Charles' brother, Christian had gone to Warren County, Ohio, to look for better farming land than what they had in Virginia. In early 1798, Charles joined Christian in Ohio, and together they built what is still known today as the Null House.

The Null Log House - circa 1798. Christian and Charles Null, whose father was killed in the Revolutionary War, built the oldest on-site log cabin in Warren County. The brothers were given a western land grant because of their father’s service. Christian traveled west from Pennsylvania in 1794 to search for land. He chose this site because shallow-rooted Sycamore trees meant a plentiful water supply, and because it was the highest point in the area. Christian returned with Charles to build their house, which eventually housed their wives and ten children. Although the Nulls were not Quakers, they were abolitionists and built a hiding space in the cellar.

By 1802, most all of the Null family emigrated from Rockingham County, Virginia, to Warren County, Ohio, settling in the Clear Creek Township. In later years, the Null House became a haven as part of the Underground Railroad, and is still located just off the Heatherwoode Gold Course.

He is buried at the Old Salem Cemetery off Lower Springboro Road.

CHILDREN: A land transaction recorded in Wayne County, Indiana, for land located in Warren County, Ohio, in 1826 details the children of the deceased Henry Null, Jr. The transaction was for land once owned by Henry Null, Sr., who outlived Henry, Jr. Since Henry, Sr. was already dead by 1826, his heirs had the property in question. Since Henry, Jr. would've been one of the heirs but was already deceased himself, his children took his place as listed heirs of Henry Null, Sr. for the purpose of the land transaction. Partial transcription of the deed reads as follows with Henry, Jr's children listed in CAPS:
