2. First person to enlist in Sturgeon's Bay's Company F of the Wisconsin National Guard. Commissioned 2nd Lt USA, October 1917; served in France 1917-19 as billeting officer arranging troop housing in French villages.

Discharged as Second Lieutenant, of Infantry, 5 April 1919 at Presidio of San Francisco, CA. No battles, engagements, skirmishes - No medals - No wound chevrons - Two gold service chevrons - No travel pay.

Honorable Discharge registered at Door Co, WI, Register's Office, 29 September,1919, Vol. 1 of Honorable Discharges, page 284 (84?).

3. Nephew: Charles R. (Bob) Nelson, 679 Cottonwood Circle, Laredo TX 78041, 956-723-6266 (2000) 4. Resided Catalina St, Los Angeles. Later built home at 6734 Zumirez Dr. on Pt.Dume, Malibu, CA. Built new home on adjacent lot, 6744 Zumirez where he and Myra lived the remainder of their lives. Bill and Leone Stevenson reside there (2000). 5.
