Witnesses were Jacob Johnston, James Mundine, & L. Johnston. In 1797 Amos Johnston sold part of this land to Richard Oldfield. The Oldfields had long been neighbors of the Mundines in NC. Charles' land in Smith Co., TN was on Defeated Creek. July 1818 Joshua Goad sold 160 acres on Defeated & Payton Creek to James Cartwright which was part of a tract granted to Charles. Also on Defeated Creek was a grant of land to Isaac Kittrell, in 1814 James Cartwright bought 20 acres of that tract. Charles & Isaac may have been neighborhors in TN. Is this a coincidense??
