BIOGRAPHY: He left Vermont and traveled to Michigan in the spring of 1830, staying briefly in Tecumseh then moving to Adrian. His wife and children joined him there in 1833. The next year he moved his family to the town of Woodstock (which he himself named after the village in Vermont), although Charles was away most of the time at work in Adrian. In 1843 he moved the family back to Adrian, where he engaged in the brickmaking business.
